I've been playing with computers for 14 years, and this one as been the easiest to set up and get running according to my wife's wishes. This unit came installed with WindowsXP Home version. The operating system did require several update sessions and a couple of restarts to get Windows current with the latest patches. The processor speed and the available memory (1 Gig) are adequate for what this netbook was intended, E-mail, surfing, internet gameplaying, word processing. Wife is very happy. Preinstalled software is adequate, however I did remove the Norton Antivirus due to performance issues, it is a slight resource drain and the version which is installed is free for 30 days. I recommend installing Avast free home edition. We also removed the Quicken Finance software due to lack of interest. I also installed Microsoft Office 2007 and it runs flawlessly. Wireless network setup was too easy, connected right away after typing in passwords. Installed the drivers for the network printer now the wife can print coupons from anywhere if the house. Movie and media playback is good, Youtube access and playback is good, only problem noted is that the speakers are not quite up to the job, headphones are definitely recommended for car/train/plane travel. I haven't had time to fully test out the batterylife, but this unit has been running continuously for 7 hours now and shows no hint of slowing down.I highly recommend this net book. Youwill be happy with it. Now I can get my desktop back from time to time.

Very easy to start up. Touch pad is VERRRY senitive. Have tried to desensitize it. It moves the pointer if my finger just brushes against it. Have to train myself not to get too close.
