I bought this for taking notes in college. It is light, looks nice, and has enough battery to last an entire day of classes. This is a major "plus" in my opinion. Toshiba should load MS Office though. I have two complaints: the mouse pad and buttons. The mouse locks up sometimes so I can't use the touchpad. It seems to correct itself in a few seconds though. This is not a huge problem but is annoying when in class. The second is the rather loud mouse button. When you click it, people ten or 15 feet away can hear it. It's makes a "clunk" sound. The screen is colorful, it's pretty fast, and the keyboard is silver and large enough for a man's bigger fingers - you can see the keyboard in low light and there are less errors when typing like other netbooks I tried. Overall, it's worth the money and will not disappoint in most areas needed by a student or busy e-mailer. I'd recommend it to anyone. (I connect a mouse sometimes when doing alot of cursor movement.)

Love this notebook! Wow is it fast! It is so worth the money! Check it out! The white is not really white white it is like an apple ipod white with silver very very contemporary! Modern! Love it! The wifi works very broad range and picks up instantly!
I just got the toshiba nb 205 and love it. The keyboard is very nice, the screen is nice and it runs very smoothly. If you're looking at buying a netbook this is the one! The price is unbeatable and the quality is great.
Keyboard- feels pretty much full size
Screen- looks very nice (for what is expected of a 0 netbook#
Portability- I'm used to my 6 lbs. laptop so this is a very nice weight at about 2.9 lbs.
Surfing the web- I registered it to my home network and it works perfectly
Overall quality- Very solidly built, looks amazing, and the outer shell is fingerprint proof
Desktop- can't customize it (to me it's no big deal, planning on getting Windows 7 anyways)
Nothing else- it's a wonderful netbook

Acer Aspire One AOA150-1126 8.9-Inch Netbook - White Review
I bought this computer primarily to use at school for taking notes and writing papers, but I have been using it for pretty much everything since I got it. It's faster than I expected (faster than my expensive Piece of C*** HP tablet), but then one of the first things I did when I bought this computer was delete all the unnecessary bloatware. It's light enough that when I drop it in my backpack I don't really notice it, and the battery lasts a good 5 hours, sometimes more, which is astonishing since it's adveritised as good for 2.5. The keyboard was a little strange at first, but now that I'm used to it, my typing has become much faster and more accurate on it's smaller keys. I bought the copper brown, which is a nice, understated but interesting brown (it's almost the color of cola, or coffee with a sheen). My only real complaint is that the speakers are underneath the front bottom edge of the computer, so if you are using it as a laptop the sound is muffled. Oh, and also the screen has a fairly large plastic border... I'm sure there's some mechanical reason for that, but other computers this size have smaller borders with larger screens, and thus are the same total size. I mean, I bought the 8.9 because I wanted a smaller computer, not a smaller screen.
All in all this is a great little computer. Fits perfectly on those tiny college desks with room to spare, hasn't crashed once in the month I've had it, and it's faster by virtue of XP rather than Vista (I imagine it'll be even faster once I dump XP entirely and load up Linux). Another interesting note, I was sitting near a girl with a new Eee PC a couple days ago, and we started up at the same time. By the time hers was loaded and ready, I was already knee deep in note-taking and had three other programs open and running. Why, why Acer, did you have to discontinue this terrific little laptop?? Even my SO, who's a bloodthirsty Mac user, likes this computer.

Acer makes the worst laptops - Moshe Miller -
I have had this for a while now, so i really know the scoop:
here is my story:
After about 2 days, the computer kept shuting off randomly
After a week my fan was making rediculously loud sounds, so i had to send it back which acer made ME pay for return shipping
after a few months i was getting blue screens, and random freezing (after about 5 minutes of use)

Acer Aspire One AOD250-1924 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 7.5 Hour Battery Life Review
I bought this as a Black Friday special on a different site. But I use Amazon a lot so I thought I'd review it here as well. First thing, get a 2GB chip for this. It works just fine with 1GB, but you'll like it more with 2GB. Second, this thing is great! I immediately upgraded to Windows 7 and it actually runs faster than this machine did with XP. No joke! And it's completely usable even with only 1GB with Windows 7... WITH Aero turned on!!! Again, no joke! After I put Win 7 on it I only needed to install the touchpad drivers to stop the "click by tapping on touchpad" feature - I hate that - but it wasn't necessary. Everything else worked right out of the box with Win 7. I then resized the win partition and installed Ubuntu 9.10 in the empty space. Again, no issues at all. Wireless worked out of the box, sound worked out of the box. I was totally amazed... I figured it would be a nightmare with proprietary drivers, etc but nope. Smooth as silk. I'm writing this review on it right now. Oh, and even with Ubuntu or Win 7, battery life is WELL over 5 hours. They claim 7 hours, I'm not 100% sure on that, but it's gotta be close... I've been using it for well on 5 hours now and I've still got 2 hours left on battery. Overall, an awesome purchase and I would definitely buy another. I'm thinking about getting one for my wife actually. 
Also, it's really thin too. I was amazed at how tiny this thing is but that everything works so well. USB seems a bit slow with only 1GB ram but once I upgraded, it got WAY faster (I know it shouldn't affect that, but I'm just being honest) Keyboard is a bit small for my fat hands, but definitely within tolerable range. Wireless card is fast, haven't tried the wired connection yet. Not having a DVD drive is a pain and it doesn't seem to want to boot well off of a USB dvd drive, but it does fine using USB flash drives (use Netbootin or something like it to make bootable USBs from a cd or DVD). Runs fine with video, watched a movie ripped from DVD on it just a little while ago with no issues. Youtube on HD mode got kinda choppy, but in standard mode it worked just fine. No problems on any other sites for me. All in all, a great buy and does what it is supposed to and does it well. You're not gonna be editing full length feature films on it, but even moderately intensive programs seem to do just fine.

10.1-Inch CrystalBrite Screen
The 10.1-inch screen has a WSVGA resolution (1024 x 600) and support for up a 262K color depth. Video is powered by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, which uses shared video memory with the main memory. Acer's CrystalBrite display technology guarantees the best possible visual experience by preventing the diffusion of surrounding light and internal ray. Compared to normal TFT LCDs, Acer CrystalBrite technology is able to read color coordinates more accurately, thus minimizing distortion and creating high-fidelity colors in all environments.
Power-Sipping Processor
The Intel Atom processor uses a brand new design structure that packs in 47 million transistors into a single chip sized at just 22mm (0.87 inches), and it uses just 2.5 watts of power--less than 1/10 of the 35 watts used by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor--for excellent battery management. This 1.6 GHz Atom N270 processor also includes a power-optimized front side bus of 533 MHz for faster data transfer on demanding mobile applications and a 512 KB L2 cache (which temporarily stores data).

mouse pad died after 60 days - arzimax - California
Powerful small unit at a good price. But...not sure about the quality of the components used by Acer. The moose pad died after 60 days. Amon refuses to take it back at full price and not sure if Acer is willing to accept return or fix this problem. Better to try Lenovo or HP - they are known to use high quality components (learned it too late).

so far this computer has done what it was suppose to do. i bought two for my twin boys and they are learning how to use the internet, email, and typing. the computers are for a defined market and keeping it within their intended use you will not be disapointed.
